Our Success Stories

image After graduating from the school's inaugural class, I was hired for my first job for the World Series of Poker in New Orleans, Lousiana.  While there I was hired for the World Series main event in Las Vegas.  The skills that I learned from Chaz made the transition easy.  Some of the procedures that are second nature to me are not to other dealers.  This extensive training and attention to detail that I received helped me to progress and I have been selected to deal the main event final table at two events for the World Series of Poker and the World Poker Tour.

Please feel free to contact me for more information at taf7199@yahoo.com

image My best freind has been a Poker Dealer for about two years and she has been trying to get me to become a Poker Dealer.  When I found out about Chaz's Professional Dealer And Player School, I decided to take his class and become a Poker Dealer.  I've been playing poker all my life and had a good bit of knowledge about some of the games being played.  After taking Chaz's class, I realized there is so much more about poker and how the games are played and managed.  Chaz's teaching methods are excellent and he will prepare you for all of the major games that are being played, all around the country.  When you complete Chaz's class, you will be prepared to work at any Poker Room or Casino.  Chaz will also help you try to get an audition at the establishment of your choice, because he has built relationships with Poker Room Managers in this area and some out of state too.  After my fifth week of training, I went for an audition at Hamilton Jai-Alai And Poker in Jasper, Fl. was hired after the audition and have been there working for about a month now(as of 12/18/06) as a Poker Dealer.

Chaz provides a fun, yet professional environment to learn the poker dealer's trade. My class consisted of people who ranged from semi-regular players to those who barely knew any terminology. We were all treated fairly and equally, and no one fell behind. Not only was Chaz's instruction top notch, but he also has connections that can help you find a job when you graduate. Thanks to this course and a little initiative on my part, I was able to land my first audition in less than a month, which I easily passed, and took on a new job that regularly pays me in excess of $25 an hour. Ironically, not long after I started this new "side" job, I was unexpectedly laid off from my "regular" job. So, while neither of us knew it at the time, Chaz and his class actually helped me stave off potential financial ruin. I will always be grateful to him and The Professional Dealer and Player School for helping me develop the knowledge and skill needed to cultivate an asset I can use as I see fit for the rest of my life.

After matriculating around to 3 different jobs, I decided to take the Circuit Dealer Course to further enhance my skills.  After completing this course, I successfully auditioned for the 2008 World Series of Poker and was out in Las Vegas for 2 months.  I dealt a total of 18 different bracelet events, which included 3 days of The Main Event, 3 final tables, and the prestigious $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event.  I'm seeking to continue working on the Circuit and looking forward to returning to Vegas for the 2009 WSOP
In 2009, I dealt another 20 bracelet events, 4 final tables and 6 days of the of the Main Event, including the feature table duning Main Event Days 1A &1D.  I also began my Circuit career this year with the Chicago event and will also likely be working the Mississippi and New Orleans events in early 2010.
After working Circuit events in Chicago and New Orleans, I improved on my numbers again at the 2010 WSOP with 24 bracelet events, 5 final tables, and 7 days of the Main Event.  My last act was dealing the final hand of the 6th table, breaking the tournament down to 5 tables for the final 45 players.  Out of the nearly 1,000 dealers on the WSOP roster, I was one of 36 chosen to deal Day 7.

image I was first exposed to Poker while working as a Slot Attendant at Casino Arizona. I also had the opportunity to work the Card Player Cruise and Party Poker Millions as host/chip runner. A girlfriend of mine told about me The Poker Room at St. John's and how they were looking for Poker Dealers. I moved to Jacksonville and started working in the cage department at The Poker Room at St. John's. They kept telling me there was going to be a in house class, but could never give me a definite date. I heard about the Professional Dealer And Player School from a friend I had met in Jacksonville and signed up for the course.
Chaz takes you step by step thru the process of becoming a Poker Dealer. From terminology, to procedures, to knowledge of the game. All along encouraging his students. Believe me I doubted myself in the beginning. By the end of the course, I had the confidence and skills to deal Poker.
Soon after graduation, I was given the chance to audition, and with Chaz's "open door policy", I was able to go back to the school and practice till my audition date. At the end of the audition, the Floor people giving me the audition said, "We are impressed", and I was able to transfer departments and become a Poker Dealer.
Since then I have been dealing Poker at The Poker Room at St. John's and have improved considerably since that first day. Chaz not only prepared me for the audtion, but gave me the skills needed to get thru that first day of dealing.

image I was referred to Chaz's Professional Poker Dealing class by MANY of my co-workers from The Poker Room at St. John's Racetrack.  I was told he was the best instructor in they had ever met.  After all the hype, my expectations were very high.  Chaz not only met my expectations, but he went completely above and beyond my expectations.  His knowledge of the games is superior to anyone I've ever met, even more so than the floor managers that I work for.  He not only knows what he's talking about, but he is able to convey his knowledge to his students with precision.  If there happens to be a concept that one of his students hasn't picked up fully, Chaz is more than willing to spend a little extra time on the side to bring that student up tp speed.  The class itself is very organized and to the point, every session has a purpose and goal.  But what might be the best incentive to go through Chaz's dealing class are the intangibles; he has been in the poker business for a long time and has developed relationships with many other poker room managers from all over the country to get you audtions quickly after completing the class, he offers to write a resume for you, which he keeps filed away in case of an emergency, he also allows any past students to come to his current classes and brush up on their skills.  There couldn't be a better deal anywhere else.  Within two weeks of work as a dealer, I've already made the money back that I spent on the class.  If you have any questions about Professional Dealer and Player School, Inc., I'd be more than willing to answer them, email at:  r.eldredge.60051@unf.edu

While I have over ten years experience as a Table Games Dealer, I know nothing about dealing poker. I went through several websites on poker dealer school and picked the training at Chaz because he offered the most training to deal poker. He indeed has a tremendous knowledge and experience regarding poker dealing. And he gave a very thorough and extensive training and preparation to become a poker dealer.

Because of commitments, I could not finish the class. But I continued the training with the next batch and did not lose a beat. On the day that I got my certificate, I applied at the Poker Room at St. John?s, auditioned the following day and started dealing the day after that. What more can you ask!

Within one week of work as a dealer, I've already made the money back that I spent on the class. If you have any questions about Professional Dealer and Player School, Inc., I'd be more than willing to answer them. My email address: glcabe@yahoo.com

image Chaz will prepare you better than I could have hoped. I was already dealing for fun for a while but I learned so much more from his course. It's the little things that you don't realize are important that he stresses. Chaz also makes sure you underdstand everything before moving on to the next step. He ensures you get plenty of practice as well. The standards he provides will allow you to basically take them anywhere there's a Poker Room or casino and pass an audition. The mock Poker night and in course auditions really helped as well. Within one week of completing his course, I had an audition at the Jax Kennel Club/Poker Room and passed. During my first day of work I averaged around $25-$30 an hour. I realize that amount will sometimes be less and sometimes more, but WHAT A GREAT START!!! THANKS CHAZ!

image After working in the construction industry for over 15 years I was tired of work hard all day in the hot sun. I needed a new career but at 33 yrs old, I didn't want to spend 2 or 4 years in school to get a job with the pay I was accustomed to making. I knew that I was going to need some training in whatever field I decided to enter. After frequenting some of the local poker rooms and talking to the dealers and staff I decided I wanted to become a professional dealer. I researched several different training courses, some online, some learn at home but they didn't seem to offer the hands on approach I was looking for. then I found the Professional Poker Dealers School this was exactly what I was looking for. Chaz is a very professional instructor that offers hands on training in all the games that you need to know to become a poker dealer anywhere that you would like to work.

I had played poker for years and thought that I knew most everything that I needed to become a dealer. Boy was i wrong, without attending Chaz's class there is no way I would have been prepared to take an audition. The first week of class pasted and I was so impressed in the amount of information Chaz was able to pass on to us, that I knew I had made the right choice. The format and methods Chaz uses to teach are very efficient and professional. When the six weeks were over I had learned more about poker dealing then I thought possible. From dealing procedures to how to read hands to keeping the rack straight you will learn everything you need to know.

Shortly after receiving my certificate Chaz was able set me up with a few contacts to secure a job. I now work at The Poker Room at St. Johns making better money then I did in construction and I work indoors. I would defiantly recommend The Professional Poker Dealer School to anyone looking for a new career. Thanks for everything Chaz you go the extra mile to help your students any way you can.

If any one has any questions or concerns about this course feel free to contact me at macknlz@yahoo.com and I will be happy to help.

image I had recently become a single mom and was struggling financially to say the least. I had worked as a chip runner in a poker room for a few months but beyond that, didn?t know much about poker. I had heard some dealers talking about what they made, but was scared to take the risk of investing that amount of money without the guarantee of a job. Needless to say, I took the risk and it was one of the best decisions I've made!

Because Chaz had been my boss at a poker room before starting his school, I knew he knew his stuff and I could rely on him to teach me what I needed to know. However, I never expected him to go above and beyond for me as he did. I remember before Chaz?s class had even ended, I managed to get an audition at the card room I still work for. I was running late and didn't have a printer to print out my resume. As I had done many times before, I called him up on his cell phone in a total panic. After laughing at me for a minute and telling me to just relax, he offered to meet me at the school, on his time off, so I could use his printer. After a little review, a lot of reassurance, and a ?googled? map with directions to where I was going, I left his office and ?wow?-ed the poker room managers and was hired on the spot.

Chaz's school was a major turning point for my life. Not only do I make plenty of money to support my household, I have been able to work minimal hours enabling me to go back to school and still have plenty of time for t-ball and life with my boys.

After my career in the mortgage business vanished, I was forced to decide which direction to go.  I loved playing poker and thought that dealing poker would be a fun way to earn a living.  What I didn't realize at the time was that a poker dealer position is a highly sought after job by many people.  The two biggest keys to being hired is being trained by the right person and knowing someone who has key contacts in the business.  Chaz fulfills both of those needs to a very high degree.  Chaz takes pride in not only training you to be a competent dealer, but refining every detail to make sure that when you take your audition you are prepared and confident.  He strikes the exact right balance in making his class fun, but is serious about making you the best dealer you can be.

I have taken 2 auditions and passed both on the 1st try.  I was complimented by the poker room manager doing the audition and he wanted to know who trained me so well.  I can say without hesitation that without the proper training you will not pass an audition.  The investment I made in training with the Professional Dealer and Player School was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

I did alot of different kinds of work over the years, but
mostly I did Plumbing. Well you know that working outside in
Florida is very hot and very hard work. After meeting a Poker
Dealer during a local dart league, and talking with him about
the business and what dealers make I thought why not
give it a try, I already know a lot about poker, with as
much as I play. Well I looked into some dealing schools, and
found the one in Jacksonville and gave them a call. Well I
talked to Chaz personally about what I was trying to accomplish.
He told me that he had a new school starting in 2 weeks,
and to feel free and stop by and check it out. Well I stopped
by and checked out the school, and what I seen there was amazing.
I gave Chaz a deposit for his next class right then and there,
and the rest is history. Chaz's Professional Dealing School,
is exactly that. With Chaz's extensive training and knowledge
of poker the school will make you a Professional Dealer in
6 weeks. Chaz doesn't just teach you what you need to know
to work in Florida, but his school prepares you to be able
to work in any major casino throughout the country. Chaz is
very strict, but very fair, and I think that is really great,
because if you really focus on the class, (as you will need
to, there is a lot more to learn than I thought, the games,
the rules, the poker terms) you will come out of the class
a very disciplined Professional Poker Dealer. Chaz will also
write a resume and help get auditions for his students, as
well as letting them come back ,even after they graduate to
practice and keep your skills sharp until you get your
audition. Chaz also offers a Tournament Circuit Course, that
prepares you to deal on the tournament circuit. I also
took that course after completing the dealers course. My 1st
job after graduating Chaz's school was for the W.S.O.P. at
Harrah's New Orleans, and then the W.P.T. at the Gold Strike
in Tunica, Mississippi. So if you are looking to become a
Professional Poker Dealer and make 25 an hour plus, I highly
recommend Chaz's school. It's a great career and I have not
looked back since.

Chaz and his instructors at the Professional Dealer and Players School provided a great environment to learn the art of Poker Dealing.  Chaz teaches in a very structured way, showing 2 or 3 new skills needed everyday.  This provides constant progression of skills and keeps the class moving at a steady pace.  Additionally, Chaz is always open to new idea's and constructive feedback and I have seen suggestions implemented in subsequent classes.  I have an engineering degree and attended many classes and I must say that Chaz's teaching methods and patience are top notch.

Chaz offers a great opportunity to all graduates to return whenever the school is open and practice.  The class taught the procedures and skills required, and the practicing after graduation provides the ability to improve and hone these skills.  I would highly recommend speaking with Chaz if you want a career as a poker dealer.

image I discovered Professional Dealer and Player School through a quick internet search after I gained an interest in becoming a poker dealer. I corresponded with Chaz through e-mail about the course and visited the school very soon after. I immediately signed up for the next available course. Chaz teaches the techniques and procedures used not only throughout Florida, but at the very best casinos in Las Vegas. I was able to snag a dealer audition no less than a month after graduating his course.

I was hired after my first audition and dealt for about a year and a half before my interest turned elsewhere in the poker room. I talked to management and was ?promoted? to dual-rate Supervisor/Poker Dealer not long after.

Chaz not only teaches you the fundaments of dealing poker?pitching cards, reading hands, taking a rake, and awarding pots, but also bank management. This includes counting down and arranging your bank for table counts, and also getting proper fills when you become short on chips. His course touches on nearly every variety of poker and its varients offered in Florida including Omaha, Stud, Texas Hold ?Em (of course) and a variety of draw games.

I would highly recommend Chaz?s course if you are interested in becoming a poker dealer, or even in the casino industry in general.
